Privacy Policy

What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• Account details — name (if you provide one), email address, and a hashed password when you sign up.
• KOTN credentials you connect — the KOTN username and password you enter so we can sign in to your KOTN account and place bids for you. Treat this as sensitive information; we store it only to run the auto-bidder you requested.
• Bidding preferences — lot links, max prices, pause / practice-mode settings, bid lead time, and related activity logs (including practice and live bid outcomes).
• Billing information — subscription status, plan tier, and Stripe customer / subscription identifiers. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card details on our servers.
• Technical information — session tokens so you stay signed in, ordinary server logs for security and reliability, and (if enabled) basic analytics via Google Analytics and bot-protection signals via Cloudflare Turnstile.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

• Create and run your account
• Connect to KOTN on your behalf and place or practice bids according to your settings
• Enforce plan limits (active lots) and trial / paid access
• Process subscriptions and invoices through Stripe
• Send transactional email (password reset, welcome, billing-related messages)
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Keep the service secure and improve how it works

We do not sell your personal information.

Where your data lives

Your account, KOTN connection, targets, and bid history are stored in our application database on a private server we operate for Apex Slice.

The website frontend is hosted on Vercel. To run the product we also use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:

• Stripe — subscription payments (may process data in the United States and other countries)
• Resend — transactional email (may process data in the United States)
• Cloudflare — Turnstile bot protection on signup (when enabled)
• Google Analytics — anonymized / aggregated usage metrics (when a measurement ID is configured)
• Vercel — hosting the public website
• King of the North Auction (kotnauction.com)— when you connect your account, we send your credentials and bid actions to KOTN's systems as needed to provide the service. KOTN has its own terms and privacy practices.

These companies only get what they need to provide their service. We choose providers that offer appropriate contractual and security protections.

When information leaves Canada

Because some providers (including Stripe, Resend, Vercel, Cloudflare, and Google) may process information outside Canada — often in the United States — some personal information can be subject to foreign laws while it is handled there. By using the service, you understand that this may happen. We take reasonable steps so our providers protect personal information appropriately.

How long we keep it

We keep account and bidding information while your account is active. After you cancel or ask us to delete your account, we may keep limited records for a reasonable time for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons (for example billing records required by tax law). You can ask us to delete your account data (see below).

Your choices and rights

Subject to legal limits, you may ask us to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Disconnect your KOTN credentials or delete your account data

Email support@apexslice.ca for privacy requests. We may need to confirm it is you before making changes. You can also disconnect KOTN or cancel billing from your account settings where available.

Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate for a service like ours — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed account passwords, and access controls — to help protect personal information. KOTN credentials are especially sensitive; we store them only to operate the auto-bidder you enabled and restrict access to systems that need them.

No online service can guarantee perfect security. If you believe your account or KOTN login was compromised, change your passwords immediately and contact us.

Cookies and similar technology

We use an httpOnly session cookie so you stay signed in to Apex Slice. If Google Analytics or Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, those services may set their own cookies or similar identifiers according to their policies.

Children

The service is intended for adults who can form a binding contract and who are allowed to use KOTN under KOTN's own rules. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
